Horbury Town Juniors FC

Our History
Horbury Town Juniors FC was formed in 2015 after Netherton Juniors relocated and became part of Horbury Town FC and Slazengers Sports Club. Netherton Juniors was initially based at Denby Grange, Overton. At the club’s peak it had 11 teams ranging from under 6s to under 11s.

The move to Horbury in 2015 allowed the club to expand and benefit from the excellent facilities on offer at Slazenger Sports and Social Club. In June 2015, the first signing on day for the newly formed Horbury Town Juniors FC saw 65 new players sign on, with 20 more the following week. The under 11s’ won the first trophy for the club in July 2015.
Under the stewardship of Chairman Paul Howard (himself a footballer, parent, and coach) the club has become an important part of the community. Over the years the number of teams has grown and the club has hundreds of players, coaches, volunteers, and officials.
Ex players and coaches number well into the thousands!
The famous Reds Cafe opened in early 2016, with ex player John Hey completing the work by himself. John had played for the club for over 20 years.
Several players have moved through the ranks to play for the first team. Others have moved on to become professional footballers at clubs including Leeds United and Sheffield United.
The club is at the heart of the Horbury community. The vision and passion of Paul, the committee, the coaches, the volunteers, the parents, and the players, is clear for all to see.
